Privacy Policy

This document outlines the privacy practices that Kids Code Weekly (I) abides by. It's written in a more human language than other policies you might find, because I believe it's important to understand this stuff. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out. This policy was last updated March 21st 2018.

Information Collection, Use, and Sharing

I make every attempt to collect as little information about you as possible. This includes not tracking you, not tracking your reading or browsing habits, and not tracking or reselling any data regarding what you or your children choose to view. The only tracking that is done is completely anonymous in nature, and is only on the homepage of this site to gauge general reader interest. Many ad blocking technologies allow you to circumvent this tracking, and if the act of anonymous tracking bothers you, I invite you (and fully support you) to install such technology and feel comfortable using this service.

For purchases, all payments are routed through Stripe, by way of Substack, which is used for handling subscriptions to the email service. Stripe is one of the most PCI compliant companies around, and Substack (and Kids Code Weekly) never actually see or touch your credit card data, but simply let Stripe handle it so that the utmost security is maintained during transactions.

Links and Third Party Content

Emails may contain links to third party experiences and content. I personally vet and review every single link in an effort to provide safe experiences for children and young adults, but the internet is a big and fast moving place. Sites can change their URLs and content on a whim, or opt to track you; for instance, if a link is opened that goes to a news site that tracks you with a cookie, I'm unable to access, touch or modify that data - it's out of reach entirely. Like with anything on the internet, you should exercise caution and good judgement in what you choose to visit.

Warrants, Legal, and More

Unless otherwise noted here, I've not received any warrants for information from any particular governing entity. I comply with law enforcement to the best extent possible, while always striving to record as little as possible so that privacy is maintained.

Your Access to and Control Over Information

As noted above, I go to great lengths to record as little information about you as possible. You have full access to all your data, and I couldn't sell your information even if I wanted to.
